The Effect of Moisture on Paper
With all the wet weather at the moment I thought it might be a good opportunity to give you a few tips about handling paper in these conditions.
Paper placed in a moist will gain moisture and expand or lose moisture and shrink in a dry atmosphere. The easiest way to tell if you paper has been effected by moisture is the outside edges will become wavy.
This can cause problems when printing, particularly with a laser printer as the curly edges will be difficult for the rollers to pick up and also the paper may distort and cause paper to print crookedly.
The best way to avoid moisture gain is to leave your paper wrapped at all times until you are about to print. Paper brought from a dry/warm environment to a moist/ cool environment or vice versa should be kept wrapped until it is acclimatized.
